When Scully comes out of the house, a silver Ford Fusion is parked outside.

Trivia: There are 11 entries in the trivia list – like these:

Gillian Anderson told The New York Times that it was harder than she expected for her to get back into character as Scully to make this movie after five years had passed since the end of the television show. The Times quoted her as saying, “I walked in thinking, its going to be like riding a bicycle. It wasnt. It was like riding a [fucking] unicycle. Id been trying so hard to stretch myself in other roles, and to catch myself when I did anything that remotely resembles Scully, that when I was put back in the ring with her, my brain started misfiring.”

The television show ("The X Files" (1993)) upon which this movie is based was filmed for its first five seasons in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The shows production moved to Los Angeles for seasons 6-9, but this movie was once again filmed in and around Vancouver. While the show was made in Vancouver, the show often used local Canadian actors in guest and secondary roles, often reusing the same actors in different parts in multiple episodes. With the franchises return to Vancouver, the producers were able to continue the tradition by recasting many of the same actors they had used so often on the show. For example, Alex Diakun (Gaunt Man) appeared as different characters in three episodes; Lorena Gale (On Screen Doctor) appeared as different characters in three episodes; Stephen E. Miller (Feed Store Proprietor) appeared as different characters in three episodes including the pilot; Sarah-Jane Redmond (Special Agent In Charge) appeared as different characters in two episodes; Stacee Copeland (Doctor) appeared as different characters in two episodes. Callum Keith Rennie (2nd Abductor – Janke Dacyshyn) appeared as different characters in two episodes and was the original choice to play the long-running character Alex Krycek. Several other secondary and tertiary members of the movie cast had also appeared on the show as other characters.

Mulder visits the Nutter feed store; David Nutter directed many episodes of the series.

The role of Tommy Williams was intended for Brad Pitt.

The exteriors were filmed at the defunct Mansfield State Reformatory in Ohio. The prison was in such poor condition that renovations had to be made prior to filming. However, most the interiors were shot on a sound stage, because they determined it would be cheaper to build duplicates of the interiors rather than renovating the interiors of Mansfield.

The American Humane Association monitored the filming of scenes involving Brooks crow. During the scene where he fed it a maggot, the AHA objected on the grounds that it was cruel to the maggot, and required that they use a maggot that had died from natural causes. One was found, and the scene was filmed.

Ernest Borgnine, Edward G. Robinson, Orson Welles, and George C. Scott were considered by Paramount Pictures for the role of Vito Corleone. Burt Lancaster wanted the role but was never considered. When Paramount considered casting Italian producer Carlo Ponti, director Francis Ford Coppola objected, as Vito was Italian-American and more a New Yorker than Italian, and thus wouldnt speak with Pontis Italian accent. When asked his opinion by the Paramount brass, Coppola said he wanted to cast either Laurence Olivier or Marlon Brando as the Don. In a September/October 2003 “Cigar Aficionado” magazine cover story, Coppola said, “I wanted either an Italian-American or an actor whos so great that he can portray an Italian-American. So, they said, Who do you suggest? I said, Lookit, I dont know, but who are the two greatest actors in the world? Laurence Olivier and Marlon Brando. Well, Laurence Olivier is English. He looked just like Vito Genovese. His face is great. I said, I could see Olivier playing the guy, and putting it on. [And] Brando is my hero of heroes. Id do anything to just meet him. But hes 47, hes a young, good-looking guy. So, we first inquired about Olivier and they said, Olivier is not taking any jobs. Hes very sick. Hes gonna die soon and hes not interested. So, I said, Why dont we reach out for Brando?” Frank Sinatra, despite his reported distaste for the novel and opposition to the film, had discussions with Coppola about playing the role himself and at one point actually offered his services. Coppola, however, was adamant in his conviction that Brando take the role instead. This would be the third time Brando performed in a part sought by Sinatra, after playing Terry Malloy in On the Waterfront (1954) and Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls (1955/I). Brandos previous film, Queimada (1969), had been a terrible flop and he could not get work in American pictures, being considered by many producers as “washed up”. Paramount executives initially would offer Marlon Brando only union scale for the role of Don Corleone. Finally, the studio relented and paid Brando $300,000, according to Coppolas account. In his autobiography The Kid Stays in the Picture (2002), former Paramount production chief Robert Evans claims that Brando was paid $50,000, plus points, and sold back his points to Paramount before the release of the picture for an additional $100,000 because he had female-related money troubles. Realizing the film was going to be a huge hit, Paramount was happy to oblige. This financial fleecing of Brando, according to Evans, is the reason he refused to do publicity for the picture or appear in the sequel two years later.

At Connies wedding, Sonny is seen in close quarters with Lucy Mancini (Jeannie Linero) Connies maid of honour at the event (wearing a pink dress). According to the novel, Sonny takes Lucy as his mistress (she is “that young girl” Don Corleone mentions to Sonny; she is also seen before Sonny visits Connie). The novel and film trilogy differ on her fate, though: in the novel she eventually moves on, settling down with a Las Vegas doctor; she is briefly seen in The Godfather: Part III (1990), with her son Vincent playing a major role.

A promotional board game titled “The Godfather Game” was released in 1971.

Wanting a scholarship to transfer to Harvard School of Medicine with the desire to become a doctor, Ben learns that he cannot afford the $300,000 for the four to five years of school since he comes from a poor, working-class background. But one evening, Ben is introduced by his unorthodox math professor Micky Rosa into a small but secretive club of five. Students Jill, Choi, Kianna, and Fisher, who are being trained by Professor Rosa of the skill of card counting at blackjack. Intriged by the desire to make money, Ben joins his new friends on secret weekend trips to Las Vegas where, using their skills of code talk and hand signals, they have Ben make hundreds of thousands of dollars in winning blackjack at casino after casino. Ben only wants to make enough money for the tuition to Harvard and then back out. But as fellow card counter, Jill Taylor, predicts, Ben becomes corrupted by greed and his arrogance at winning which lets his feelings get in the way, and it also puts Professor Rosa, as well as the group, on the radar of a brutal casino security enforcer, named Cole Williams, who holds a personal grudge of some kind against Rosa which threatens to undo everything the students have learned and earned.

Crazy Credits: We know about 2 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
Though hardly recognizable, the Paramount and DreamWorks jingles at the beginning are the original ones heavily altered digitally to be darker and robotic. Here comes one of them:
Continuity: During the first meeting with Ben, the cards that Micky deals alternate from face up, face down, and missing altogether.

Trivia: There are 6 entries in the trivia list – like these:

Jeff Ma, the real life Ben Campbell, has a small role in the movie as a Planet Hollywood blackjack dealer.

MIT wouldnt allow filming on its campus, so the movie was actually filmed at Boston University.

The movie was used as a luxury prize for the contestants on the Big Brother 9 in the US. They played a competition involving blackjack, and the winners got to see a special advance screening of the movie. One contestant won a trip to Las Vegas worth $21,000, which included a three night stay at the same hotel the actors from the movie stayed in.

When Alfred performs the ultimate magic trick, Robert tries desperately to find out the secret to the trick.
Plot: In the end of the Nineteenth Century, in London, Robert Angier, his beloved wife Julia McCullough and Alfred Borden are friends and assistants of a magician. When Julia accidentally dies during a performance, Robert blames Alfred for her death and they become enemies. Both become famous and rival magicians, sabotaging the performance of the other on the stage. When Alfred performs a successful trick, Robert becomes obsessed trying to disclose the secret of his competitor with tragic consequences.

Crazy Credits: We know about 1 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
The ending credits are presented in the same typeface as Professor Umbridges numerous educational decrees.

Goofs: We know about 10 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Continuity: In one of the earlier scenes of the movie, Alfred and Robert are seen in the dressing room after one of their performances together. Robert puts on a brown vest and crosses the room, and in the next shot he is seen pulling it on over his shoulders once again.

Trivia: There are 14 entries in the trivia list – like these:

In the Bullet Catching Scene you can clearly see the name Harry Dresden on the list of performers under Christian Bales “The Professor.” Harry Dresden is a fictional wizard in a series of books, “The Dresden Files”, by novelist Jim Butcher (I).

Ricky Jay, who played a magician in the film, coached Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale in their sleight-of-hand techniques.

Angiers double mumbles a few lines from a speech while rehearsing on stage before his first performance. What hes saying is actually the words of Harry Percy (Hotspur) from William Shakespeares Henry IV, when called to appear before the king and explain his failure to turn over prisoners after a recent battle in Scotland. Apparently Hugh Jackman has used this speech in previous auditions. Presumably it was believed that having the double deliver a few lines from Shakespeare would lend him an actorly air, as his character is in fact a dissolute stage actor.
