Plot Outline: Famous actors, directors and writers reminisce about their careers and the philosophy behind their careers.
Plot: James Lipton interviews some of todays most talented actors, directors and writers. In the audience are students and famous alumni of the Actors Studios master of fine arts program. The interviewees talk about their childhood, how they got started in show business, their early career and behind-the-scenes trivia. Plot Outline: A respected rabbi is forced to come to terms with the demands of his faith and the welfare of his own family.

Plot Outline: Remember that scientist that was trying to perfect a matter transportation machine but got fused with…
Plot: Remember that scientist that was trying to perfect a matter transportation machine but got fused with a fly when one of the little critters got into the transporter with him? Well, this story is about three of his descendents (a son, Henri Delambre, played by Brian Donlevy and two grandsons). Seems the son wants to continue and perfect the machine while his two sons want to get out of the scientist business and live “normal” lives. The oldest son, Martin, decides to take a wife (who just happens to have escaped from a mental hospital after her parents died). Martins father is not happy with this intrusion but finally gives in because he understands him sons needs. They all try to be a happy family until humans used in botched experiments are discovered by the new bride and the police nearly discover the lab while looking for Martins wife. Everyone tries to get out of there via the transporter but things just dont go according to plan …

Plot Outline: Four guests from the worlds of politics and entertainment join host Bill Maher for a free-wheeling and humorous discussion of current events.
Plot: Political talk show based on the idea that debate is stifled by too much seriousness. Guests are chosen from the worlds of politics and entertainment, often with the goal of creating conflict (ultra-sensitive special-interest groups matched with outrageous comedians). Nevertheless, a relatively friendly atmosphere is maintained, with none of the swearing or chair-throwing common on shock-talk shows. Regular features have included the “Get Over Yourself” award, given to the weeks most self-absorbed public figure.

Crew or equipment visible: The scene where Dante is chased by the dog and encounters Virgil. The thin wire lead which is being used to control the dog is visible at the left of the scene.

ABC cancelled the show even though its ratings were strong, and in some markets it was beating out "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (1992). Host Bill Maher has been quoted as saying it was because the politically conservative Walt Disney Corp., which owned ABC, didnt like his criticisms of the government of President George W. Bush.

ABC temporary pulled the show off the air when host Bill Maher agreed with conservative author Dinesh DSouza that it was inappropriate to label the 9/11 hijackers as “cowards” due to the fact that they sacrificed their lives for their cause. Fed Ex and Sears withdrew their sponsorship.
